Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Savoy Hotel, I found myself immersed in a beautifully preserved slice of Colombia's history. Built in the 1920s, this hotel doubles as a living museum, showcasing the charm of its era while offering modern comforts. The rooms are not only comfortable but cleaned daily, maintaining a high standard of housekeeping. One thing that stood out was the attentive staff. Don Mauricio, the owner, was a shining star, welcoming us like family and sharing insider tips about the city. His car collection tour was an unexpected highlight, but what truly made the experience special were the local connections on offer. The entrance area served as a social hub, bridging guests and locals effortlessly. For those curious about value, the Savoy offers a range of amenities typically found in high-end hotels. The free Wi-Fi was reliable, and the outdoor dining area allowed for leisurely meals under the sun. While the Savoy may lean towards the luxury end, the overall experience justifies the cost. If you’re seeking an authentic cultural adventure with thoughtful touches, the Savoy is a worthy choice. Don't miss visiting La Matraca for a taste of musical heritage!
